Bean Brown was produced for a brief time before the war; red oxide was conscripted by the Armed Service. Wright spent months experimenting with glaze mixtures which led to Black Chutney -

Bean Brown is difficult to find - but definitely worth the hunt. The deep red - akin to mahogany - is stunning. And it brings out the best in the other glaze colors. 

American Modern was produced by Steubenville Pottery beginning in 1939.

Condition: Excellent. No chips, no cracks, no crazing. Beautiful. . . .
